All sites are required to have a minimum of 2 COACHES per 15 girls at every practice. A coach who is CPR Certified must always be present at practice. We recommend having 2-4 coaches for new sites to aid in support of preparation, set-up, and getting familiar with the program.

If your site is at a school, it is best practice to have at least one coach be a school staff member or teacher. Parents/Guardians are also welcome.

It is the responsibility of the site/school to identify the Head Coach. Girls on the Run New Orleans can assist the site in finding additional assistant coaches.

All Head Coaches must be CPR/First-Aid certified prior to the first practice.

All coaches (Head and Assistant) must be up-to-date GOTR Learning Academy trainings. GOTR NOLA provides this training.
All New Volunteer Coaches must complete in-person Coach Training as coaches and have a valid background check (these dates are listed on the coach application and at gotrnola.org/coach
Having 2-4 coaches per team is recommended for child safety, and accommodates for volunteer scheduling, potential conflicts, and sick/ or emergency leave.

We are planning to offer 2-3 coach training sessions this season (must choose one for all new coaches). Training information will be provided once accepted as a Coach and the background check is complete. This training is a requirement to coach.
