Program Fee
Our program registration fee is $225 per participant. (Please see below for all that fee includes)

Financial Assistance
In an effort to make our program as equitable and accessible as possible we offer financial assistance is available, along with payment plans. Financial aid is limited. To help us continue to make our program as inclusive and accessible to as many children as possible, we ask that families are truthful when selecting their household income range and if they need further financial assistance than offered by the generated sliding scale, to connect with us.

For our Spring 2024 season, nearly 75% of our families asked for financial assistance, which totaled roughly $165,000 total assistance given. Our staff works hard to find funding including grants, donors and sponsors to keep our program quality available to all families.

Girls on the Run also pays all community education fees ($23-$30 per participant) on top of the program costs, typically incurred by families at Ann Arbor, Pinckney, Saline and Brighton Public Schools.

*Each program participant will receive:
- Sixteen 90-minute lessons - 24 hours of instruction
- An official program shirt, cinch sack and water bottle
- An activity journal and program handouts
- A 5K celebration event
- A beautiful finisher's medal
- An end of season celebration, certificate & program keepsake
*Participant registration fees are also used to pay dues to Girls on the Run International (for curriculum development, program evaluation, coach training development, etc.), comprehensive liability insurance, the curricula, program supplies (bins, paper, markers, index cards, stickers, cones, balls, etc.), staff to support volunteers and families, our website and registration system, background checks, coach training & appreciation, CPR/First Aid certifications, and the culminating Girls on the Run 5K event.

Athletic Shoes
We offer families and coaches the opportunity to receive athletic shoes if lack of having them is a barrier to participating. Coaches will be asked in their application and participants during the registration process if this is a need.

Coaching Stipend Opportunity
It's important for us to try to remove barriers to volunteering with our program. We offer coaches an opportunity for up to $250 stipend if there are barriers that otherwise wouldn't allow the volunteer to coach, such as childcare, transportation costs, etc. While we would LOVE to pay every coach for the time and commitment you put into your teams, unfortunately we don't have the funding to support that, and so we ask that only those coaches who truly need that assistance request it so that we are able to continue to help those who do. The stipend are not intended to be used to cover registration fees for the coaches' child (please utilize the financial assistance for that), or costs for their GOTR team. Each team will be provided with a Visa Emburse card for extra supplies for things such as the 5K and end of the season celebration.

Program Fee Refund

Any refund requests for participants dropping from the program must be made to the Girls on the Run office prior to the first week of the season. Girls on the Run SEMI is unable to provide refunds to participants after the season begins.

To complete this application, you must provide the following information:
- School/Site location (address), phone number and principals' email
- Meeting days/times. GOTR teams (3rd-6th grades) meet twice weekly for 90 minutes for 8 weeks (16 sessions). We recommend meeting directly after school for best attendance.

For site approval:
In order for your site to be approved, new sites must have at least 2 full time coaches (or the equivalent) identified and they must submit their coaching application. We highly recommend a 3rd coach as an extra set of hands, a built in substitute, and in case you reach your maximum of 15 participants. Teams with 3 coaches may serve up to 20 participants.
