Thank you for giving your time, heart, and positive energy to inspire girls in Santa Fe and Los Alamos communities. We are excited to serve and empower more children this season thanks to volunteer coaches like you. This application is for NEW COACHES only. The spring 2025 Girls on the Run Season will be a 10-week season and begin the week of February 17, 2025 and run through May 2, 2025. Each team will consist of eight to 20 participants, meet two times per week for 75 to 90 minutes, and will be led by two to three certified coaches.

Coach Roles:

• Coach: Any adult at least 18 years of age and out of high school. All coaches will be responsible for facilitating curriculum, positively engaging participants, and sharing other team support tasks.

• Substitute Coach: Coach assigned by the council who serves as an alternative Coach in instances where additional coaches are needed for a coaching team.

To become a coach, there are three requirements that NEW COACHES need to be met:

1. Complete GOTR National Coach Training (NCT). This training consists of two parts: self paced, online modules which take about 3.5 to 4.5 hours to complete, and an in-person coach training session which lasts about 2.5 to 3 hours. All new coaches must complete both the online and in-person portions of training prior to coaching a team.

2. Complete a background check. Instructions to complete the background check are included in the coach application confirmation email you'll receive once this form is submitted.

3. Complete CPR and First Aid certification (if needed). A minimum of one coach per team must have CPR and First Aid certification on file by the first session of any given season and be present at every practice. We offer CPR/First Aid Training for coaches who need to be certified.
