Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Girls on the Run Bexar County to inspire girls in our community! We are excited to serve and empower more children each year thanks to volunteers like you.

Please complete this form to indicate your interest in coaching in an upcoming season or getting involved in other volunteer opportunities. As we gear up for another fun season of Girls on the Run and Heart & Sole, we will follow up with more information about getting involved as a volunteer or coach, along with the applicable application form based on your area of interest.

Coach Volunteer Roles:

Coach: Any adult at least 18 years of age and out of high school. All coaches will be responsible for facilitating curriculum, positively engaging participants, and sharing other team support tasks.
Substitute Coach: Unable to commit to twice per week coaching schedule, but would like to be a dedicated team sub. (*Coach training required.)
Junior Coach: High school students between the ages of 16 and 18 years of age before the first session of the season.
Junior Helper: Students between the ages of 13 and 15 who are interested in supporting a team as a running buddy and helper.

General Volunteer Opportunities: Any adult at least 18 years of age who supports our council with different needs!

5K Planning Committee (Fall 5K Sunday, November 17th - Spring 5K, Saturday, May 10th)
- The Planning Committee members function as team leads for race day volunteer zones and provide support for our staff with planning and executing the functions of each area.
- The committee meets once per month on a Wednesday, from 6pm to 7pm at the GOTRBC office, from August through November. Additionally, the committee meets at the race site for a walkthrough the weekend before the 5K.
5K Day-of Event Volunteer
- Volunteer on the day of our 5K from 6:30 AM-11:30 AM
- Multiple role options available
One-Time Volunteer or Corporate Group One-Time Volunteer Experience
- Help with event prep or season materials prep
- Office support (data entry, organizing, etc.)
Skills-based Volunteer
- We are currently looking for support related to social media content creation (short form video) and supporting social media across our Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn Profiles

Other Opportunities:

Internships (Fall/Spring) - Up to 10 hours weekly for University Students
