2025 New Site Application - Girls on the Run WestSound

Girls on the Run is an afterschool youth development program like no other! Offering girls of all abilities in 3rd-8th grade a safe inclusive space to grow, learn, and have so much fun. Our mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates movement. Through thought-provoking discussion and fun activities, Girls on the Run uplifts and empowers girls in our community and prepares them to become the leaders of tomorrow.

Our programs:

● Unlock life skills through curricula that inspires confidence.

● Weave physical activity — that is accessible to all girls — into thought-provoking lessons.

● Offer girls a tangible sense of achievement by helping them set goals to complete our end-of-season non-competitive 5K.

● Get girls involved in hands-on community impact projects.

Girls on the Run is open to girls of all abilities in 3rd-5th grades.

Heart & Sole is open to girls of all abilities in 6th-8th grades.

Our next season begins in spring 2025. By working together, we can meet all these needs and make this program a success!

Site Information

A "site" is any location that hosts a Girls on the Run (3rd-5th grade) or Heart & Sole (6th-8th grade) team. Sites can be schools, community centers, parks, churches, etc. A prerequisite to starting a new team is to identify a Site Liaison. A Site Liaison is typically a teacher, caregiver, or another community member who volunteers their time, effort, and "sparkle" before the beginning of the season, working with GOTR staff to coordinate the logistics of hosting a team. The Site Liaison's responsibilities include working in collaboration with Girls on the Run staff to determine practice days, times, and locations, as well as to inspire enthusiasm for the program and recruit coaches and girls to participate. A Site Liaison can also be a Coach but must complete a separate Coach Application.
