Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Girls on the Run to inspire girls in our community! We are excited to serve and empower more children each year thanks to volunteers like you.

Please complete this form to indicate your interest in coaching in an upcoming season or getting involved in other volunteer opportunities. As we prepare for another fun season of Girls on the Run, we will follow up with more information about volunteering or coaching, along with the applicable materials based on your area of interest!

Volunteer Roles:

Coach: Any adult at least 18 years of age and out of high school. All coaches are responsible for facilitating curriculum, positively engaging participants, and sharing other team support tasks. Teams meet twice each week for 75-90 minutes during the 10-week season. All coaches are required to complete National Coach Training and be CPR certified.
5K Volunteer: These individuals help ensure our end-of-season 5K Celebration is possible. A variety of volunteer roles are available. We host two 5K events each year in Springfield, one in May and one in November. Click here to learn more about our 5K and our volunteer needs.
Team Adelaide: Team Adelaide is a group of experienced coaches who assist with site support visits for Girls on the Run. This group is critical in fostering connection among our teams and ensuring that a quality program is being delivered. This is a great role for experienced coaches who may no longer be available to coach, but still want to support girls and be involved with a Girls on the Run team.
Site Liaison: Ready to start a team in your community and inspire the next generation to be joyful, healthy, and confident? The site liaison acts as the main contact at the site for Girls on the Run families/participants and Girls on the Run staff before and during the program. This person also helps recruit volunteer coaches and program participants by spreading the word about Girls on the Run throughout the site community. The site liaison is usually an employee of the site (e.g. school administrator, teacher, counselor, nurse, etc.).
Ambassador: These individuals are passionate about sharing our organization's mission with others. Ambassadors will help with tabling events at back-to-school nights or other community events. They will promote the Girls on the Run program by engaging with prospective volunteers, participants, and their families.

Note: All volunteers who will have direct contact with girls in our program must consent to a background check.
