I understand that, if elected a member of the Board of Directors of Girls on the Run, I have a legal and ethical responsibility to ensure that the organization performs within the mission and vision and values established by Girls on the Run International. I understand that my duties and responsibilities of care, loyalty and obedience will include the following:

1. I will be fiscally responsible, with the other board members, for this organization. It is my duty to know what our budget is and to take an active part in planning the budget and the fundraising to meet it.

2. I will be legally responsible, along with other board members, for this organization. I will be responsible to know and approve all policies and programs and to oversee the implementation of policies and programs.

3. I will be morally responsible for the health and well-being of this organization. As a member of the board of Girls on the Run ("GOTR"), I will pledge myself to carry out the mission and vision. I will be fully committed, dedicated and passionate towards this mission.

4. I will give (or get) a financial donation to support GOTR. I may give this as a one-time donation each year, or I may pledge to give a certain amount several times during the year. GOTR has established each board member minimum of $500 (Five Hundred dollars) annually. Corporate sponsorships and fundraising events I initiate may also count towards this $500.

5. I will actively engage in fundraising for this organization. This may include individual solicitation, undertaking special events, writing mail appeals, and/or corporate sponsorships.

6. I will attend at least 75% of the board meetings each year.

7. I will serve the organization as a whole rather than any special interest group or constituency. I will avoid even the appearance of a conflict of interest that could embarrass or potentially harm GOTR. I will maintain independence and objectivity and do what a sense of fairness, ethics and personal integrity dictate.

8. I understand that GOTR will secure Director’s and Officer’s Liability Insurance as directed by GOTR International.

9. I will maintain confidentiality on behalf of GOTR.

10. I will receive a copy of the bylaws and will read them. I will also receive, read, understand and sign the following documents, if elected to the Board of Directors. I will agree to adhere to these terms. a. Privacy Policy b. Whistleblower Policy c. Conflict of Interest Policy d. Crisis Management Policy e. Logo Usage Policy f. Fundraising Policy
