OUR MISSION:
We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates physical activity.
THE PROGRAM:
Girls on the Run of the Greater Chesapeake ("GOTRGC"), an independent 501(c)3, offers a positive youth development program to girls in 3rd - 8th grades in Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Calvert County, and the Eastern Shore. GOTRGC helps participants recognize their inner strength, increase their level of physical activity, imagine their possibilities, and confidently stand up for themselves and others. How? Through the innovative integration of fun physical activities, life-skills lessons, and impactful community projects.
Our core curriculum addresses many aspects of girls’ development – their physical, emotional, mental, and social well-being. At the end of each season, the girls participate in a community impact project and a celebratory 5K to experience the exhilarating feeling of accomplishment. However, at Girls on the Run, the finish line is just the beginning, as our ultimate goal is to provide the girls with tools for positive mental health and well-being, and the confidence to know that they can.
HOW YOU CAN HeLP:
GOTRGC's goal is to reach as many girls in our area as possible and ensure access for every girl. With your gift, you are furthering a commitment to program accessibility, helping us expand to more schools/sites and provide program access to girls through scholarships.
