OUR MISSION:
Girls on the Run of the Greater Chesapeake provides girls in 3rd - 8th grades with a positive, character development program that teaches girls social, emotional, and physical well-being at a critical time in their lives.
THE PROGRAM:
Girls on the Run of the Greater Chesapeake ("GOTRGC"), an independent 501(c)3, offers a positive youth development program to girls in 3rd - 8th grades in Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Calvert County, and Eastern Shore. GOTRGC helps participants recognize their inner strength, increase their level of physical activity, imagine their possibilities, and confidently stand up for themselves and others. How? Through the innovative integration of fun physical activities, life-skills lessons, and impactful community projects.
Our core curriculum addresses many aspects of girls’ development – their physical, emotional, mental, and social well-being. At the end of each season, the girls participate in a community impact project and a celebratory 5K to experience the exhilarating feeling of accomplishment. However, at Girls on the Run, the finish line is just the beginning, as our ultimate goal is to provide the girls with tools for positive mental health and well-being, and the confidence to know that they can.
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
With your monthly or recurring gift, you will help provide access to the program and our core curriculum for girls in our communities. Your continuous support will help to provide a positive, inclusive environment where participants will make new connections, grow their confidence, and unleash their limitless potential to know they can!
