The Spring 2025 Girls on the Run Season, open to all 3rd-5th grade girls, is set to begin the week of February 24, 2025 and will end Saturday, April 26, 2025 with our celebratory 5K run. Volunteer coaches are needed to lead teams of approximately 15 girls that meet twice a week for 8 weeks. The Spring 2025 Season will include a week off during Spring Break making the session 9 weeks total. Days and times vary by site. Girls on the Run Coaches must complete Coach Training and be CPR certified. Coach Training will be held on January 18th from 9:00-12:00 in Dubois County and January 25th from 9:00-12:00 in Vanderburgh County. In person coach training is not required for returning coaches, however, they are welcome to attend. Online training provides coaches with all there is to know about being a Girls on the Run Coach and you will receive curriculum materials prior to the start of the program. In addition, free CPR certification (provided by Memorial Hospital) will be available to Coaches - TBA. Being a Girls on the Run coach is the most rewarding and significant way to make a positive impact in the lives of young girls!
If you would like to be a coach but are not consistently available during the session times listed, you can register to be a Substitute Coach. Substitute Coaches are a part of our Resource Team that is "on-call", ready and available, on a pre-selected week or day throughout the season to help where needed.
Junior Coaches (age 16 years or older) are valuable members of our Coaching Team. Junior Coaches assist our head coaches in leading our teams of girls.
