GOTR Upstate SC Spring 2025 5K Volunteer Registration

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Girls on the Run 5K!

When selecting your volunteer role, please note the time shift labeled on your selection.

Below is a brief description of the volunteer roles that are available:

• Coach Check-In   (Arrival time: 6:30 AM) - Check in coaches as they arrive, direct them to their team table, and give out all needed materials.
• Course Monitor (Arrival time: 8:00 AM) - Stationed throughout the course to direct participants and cheer them on as they pass by. The purpose of this position is to keep the course safe, tell participants where to go, and to keep the course cheerful by cheering on the participants as they go by! *Junior Course Monitor position open for those under 16 (must be accompanied by a volunteer 16 years or older)
• Greeter/Floater (Arrival time: 7:00 AM) - greet participants and families as they arrive to let them know where to go. Some of these volunteers will be stationary while some will "float" around the event to answer questions as necessary. Taking photos/videos would be a plus.
• Merchandise Sales (Arrival time: 6:30 AM) - manage merchandise sales.
• Packet Pick Up - Assist GOTR Staff in handing out packets before the event (multiple day/time shifts are available)
  • Wednesday, April 23 – at the Kroc Center in Greenville from 3:00 - 5:00 PM
  • Thursday, April 24 – at the GOTR Office in Spartanburg from 3:00 - 5:00 PM
  • 5K Day, April 26 – USC Upstate, Spartanburg starting at 7:00 AM
• Photography (Arrival time: 7:30 AM) - this position is for skilled social media/photographers, moving around the event taking pictures/videos and asking teams to pose for you.
• Set Up (Arrival time: 6:30 AM) - Help set up the event, inflate balloons, decorate table, set out supplies, etc.
• Sweeper (Arrival time: 8:00 AM) - sweepers will complete the 5K at a slow/walk pace, marking the end of the 5K.
• Tear Down - Help tear down materials after run is over and load supplies into GOTR Staff member's car(s).
• Unloading Supplies (Arrival time: 11:30 AM) - meet at GOTR Office (269 S. Church St, Spartanburg) to unload supplies as needed. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and withstand physical activity.
• Volunteer Check-In  (Arrival time: 6:30 AM) - Check in volunteers as they arrive, direct them to their position, and hand out their materials as needed.
• Water Station (Arrival time: 8:00 AM) - Stationed at one water stop along the course to fill up and hand out water to participants and cheer them on as they pass by. *Junior water station position open for those under 16 (must be accompanied by a volunteer 16 years or older)
