My fundraiser name, Shine Bright, references one of my favorite lessons of the program- teaching the girls how to encourage their star power to shine through the clouds. I hope when you read this you visualize a star pushing a cloud aside with big rays of sun shining around it. We teach the girls to use this visualization to combat negative self talk. I use this skill, along with skills to have hard conversations, pick good friends, and show empathy- all skills taught to the girls- on a regular basis. If you have experienced any of these situations please consider donating- your experiences directly align with our girls. Imagine having the knowledge and practice to handle these situations as an 8 year old!
Why donate?
Your donation will enable us to provide financial support to over 500 families of girls who would otherwise be unable to participate in Girls on the Run. A substantial portion of our 1,000+ girls require some sort of subsidy. Fundraising efforts go directly towards supporting that need.
Bonus!
Your donation for this fundraising campaign will be matched by the Board, doubling your impact when you give today!
Bonus Bonus!
All of my donors will receive a thank you gift to serve as a reminder to shine brightly!
I have been involved with Girls on the Run since 2016. My focus is to support the growth of the program in the Willamette Valley. I've held many roles with the organization, and I currently serve on as a Board Member of Girls on the Run Greater Oregon. This organization works to realize the vision of a world where all girls can be free to boldly pursue their dreams. My time volunteering to the program has created a lifelong impact for myself and for hundreds of girls.
