I recently learned that only 2% of all giving in the United States goes to organizations dedicated to serving women and girls. This year, I'm looking to do my part to move the needle on that statistic.
As the Marketing & 5K Director for Girls on the Run Northeast Ohio, you know I'm passionate about building confidence in girls. What you may not know about me is that I also love to crochet. While it's a fun hobby, I can only make so many things for myself :)
This year, I've decided to turn my hobby into a way of further supporting women and girls. So, this giving season, for every donation of $25 or more to this fundraiser, I'll make and donate a winter hat to a shelter that serves women and children. For every donation of $50 or more, I'll make and donate a scarf!
If you're familiar with Girls on the Run, you'll also know that every GOTR team completes a community impact project during their season. What this means is that your donation to GOTRNEO will...
- Provide scholarship funding for girls that wish to participate
- Create an opportunity for that participant to give back to their own community next season
- Ensure that cold weather gear is provided to women & children this winter
