I'm excited to share that I have committed to running the 2025 TCS New York City Marathon for Girls on the Run! If you know me, I have had the bucket-list goal to run a marathon, while raising money for a valuable cause for a few years now, so here we are!
Girls on the Run is a non-profit organization that empowers young girls through curriculums and programs that combine running with critical social-emotional skills to promote physical and mental well-being. In addition to societal pressures and limiting stereotypes, reports have shown a decline in girl's mental health. Girls on the Run encourages girls of all cultural and socio-economic backgrounds to develop self-love and confidence, as well as realize their own potential in a safe space. As a middle school teacher, this organization's mission resonates deeply with me. The impact physical activity has had on my self-esteem is truly transformative, and I am determined to support and share programs such as Girls on the Run, that provide young girls the opportunity to break stereotypes and grow healthy, confident, positive, and resilient through life-changing programs.
Currently, more than 80% of the girls in this program receive financial assistance to participate. I have pledged to raise $5,000 to support Girls on the Run's mission of fostering life-long healthy habits and a sense of belonging. With your support, we can help build the next generation of strong and confident girls. Any donation amount is highly appreciated and meaningful to this cause. Thank you for your support through this journey-it means more than you know! 🫶🏼 #GirlsRunTheWorld
