Who doesn't want to see young girls grow their confidence, build new friendships, and learn to enjoy some physical exercise? That's what Girls on the Run delivers to hundreds of girls right here in the Capital Region.
I'm proud to serve as a board member of Girls on the Run Capital Region (GOTR) and I've had the privilege to see girls of all abilities, backgrounds and personalities cross the finish line of a 5K, smile as they turn the corner and see a supporter they love cheering them on, and hear someone new ask if they'll be their "lap buddy" at practice.
This program is more than just an afterschool activity. It’s about building resilience, fostering self-confidence, and teaching life skills that will benefit these girls for years to come. Through each season, girls learn the importance of teamwork, how to set and achieve goals, and how to navigate challenges – all while having fun and being active.
But none of this would be possible without the generous support of people like you.
As a board, we are committed to ensuring that Girls on the Run remains accessible to every girl in our region, regardless of her family’s financial situation. Your contribution will help provide scholarships, program materials, and the resources needed to bring this life-changing program to girls who need it most.
As the year comes to a close, I invite you to join me in supporting this vital work. Your donation will have a direct and lasting impact on the lives of young girls in our community, giving them the opportunity to grow into strong, confident young women.
Together, we can help ensure that every girl has the chance to experience the transformative power of Girls on the Run. I’ve set a personal goal to raise $500 to help with our local council’s big end-of-year need. With your help, I'd love to CRUSH this goal!
Can I count on you to help?
