Hello! My name is Emily O'Hara, and I'm currently in my second year as an Associate Board member for Girls on the Run, Philadelphia. I’m reaching out to raise funds to bring the life-changing Girls on the Run program to girls from underserved communities across the city. Having coached for the past five seasons, I've seen firsthand the incredible impact this program has on the girls who participate. I hope you'll join me in helping to unleash the limitless potential of these young girls!
What is GOTR? Girls on the Run is a transformational program that combines physical activity with positive youth development for girls in 3rd-8th grade. Through dynamic lessons and running games, we teach vital life skills, all while preparing the girls for a celebratory 5K running event. The goal is to instill confidence through achievement and foster a lifelong appreciation for health and fitness.
Why the ask? Each season, over 73% of our participants experience this program through scholarship support, with more than 55% coming from families with an annual income of less than $29,000. Your support can make a real difference in these girls’ lives.
