A girl’s self confidence peaks at age 9. Let’s change this.
Since 2013 I’ve supported Girls on the Run of the Bay Area in their mission to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident. GOTR is a non-profit after-school program that teaches life skill lessons that build physical and social-emotional health through a fun, experience-based curriculum which integrates running. The program culminates in a celebratory 5K event bringing the Bay Area community together.
I wish I had a program like this as a girl. Through volunteering as a coach over multiple seasons, the GOTR curriculum has been valuable in teaching me to engage with others and with my emotions. I’ve seen positive changes in participants throughout the program. I want all girls to feel confident with their voice and in their bodies.
Over the last 20 years, GOTR has served 30,000+ girls in the Bay Area, with 70%+ requiring financial assistance - from running shoes to tuition for the program. All funds raised here will help underwrite scholarships to allow any girl to participate in GOTR.
