Aloha,
Once again we meet, to complete the ridiculous. The 4x4x48 challenge, that is seeming to become a March holiday for me. This year, I will be raising money for Girls on the Run. But not alone! Our team of coaches will be joining in fundraising and for some of the running itself.
What is the challenge and why am I raising money?
During the challenge I will be running 4 miles, every 4 hours, for 48 hours from Friday afternoon until Sunday afternoon.
Yes, you read that correctly.
Sleep will be a suggestion, more of an LOL. Cat naps at 2am followed with adrenaline filled frenzies at 4am. It’s a blast.
Why Girls on the Run?
I believe that society improves when girls are encouraged to try sports & those that enjoy it have ample opportunity to participate. My life experience finds that sports can serve as a high level training ground on how to manage the stressors of life. Everyday, through our actions & how we deal with thoughts & feelings, we rehearse who we believe we are.
I believe that sports allow young girls to have a new lens at which to build their vision of who they are and who they can be. In my years of coaching, I’ve witnessed so many athletes be able to grow and bloom in their becoming by way of sports & fitness.
Girls on the Run is a program that offers that opportunity. It actually was GHP athletes that introduced me to Girls on the Run.
This year, our goal is to raise $3,000 this week by way of the 4x4x48.
There are 2 ways you can participate:
Donate! And share this with your network or on social media. The website is:
Run with me! I will generally be running at “party pace” and will be running between 8-12min/mile pace pending route, time of day, and who I’m with.
I will be sharing these all on my Instagram page where you can follow along too. Contact me if you would like to join for any of the runs.
Thank you,
Coach Donald Robinson
